State Rep. Barry Mask will be the next chief executive officer of the Alabama Association of Realtors.
Mask, a Wetumpka Republican who grew up in Montgomery, is currently executive director of the Elmore County Economic Development Authority. Mask previously worked as the governmental affairs director for the association from 1990 to 1995.
Mask, who was elected to the House in a 2006 special election, has also worked for the Alabama State Employees Association, the Business Council of Alabama and the Alabama Industry & Manufacturers Association. He is also known as the first official Aubie mascot at Auburn University.
“After an exhaustive nation-wide search for a new CEO, we believe that we have chosen the very best individual for the extremely important job of helping to lead our association into the future,” 2013 Realtors President Richard VanValkenburgh said in a statement. ” … Barry’s qualifications are a perfect match to AAR’s needs. When all was said and done, Barry is perfect for this position.”
The Realtors association has more than 11,000 members.
