Macon County Sheriff David Warren and an expert on gambling machines will be inspecting and reviewing machines at VictoryLand at 1 p.m. today, according to an attorney for the facility.
The event will be for law enforcement and local officials, although some media outlets have been invited.
An attorney for VictoryLand owner Milton McGregor has said they plan to reopen the casino by the end of the year. Attorney General Luther Strange has said his office, which has worked to shut down some other casinos in the state, will enforce the rule of law.
McGregor, his attorneys, and his supporters have argued the machines played at his facility play electronic bingo that they believe is legal in the state.
Opponents, including Strange and former Gov. Bob Riley, believe the games are played on slot machines that are illegal in the state.
