FOURTH STAGE: It’s getting later

'Cass' McKinzy ended all speculation by signing with Auburn this morning.

Hey everyone.

Let’s continue:

(UPDATED @ 10:45 a.m. CDT) DL Leonard Williams has signed with Southern Cal. He was one of Auburn’s biggest targets.

(UPDATED @ 10:15 a.m. CDT) ATH Beniquez Brown has signed with Mississippi State. Auburn offered him during the past 48 hours.

(UPDATED @ 10:08 a.m. CDT) LB Kwon Alexander becomes LSU’s eighth linebacker commitment. Playing time less than imminent.

(UPDATED @ 9:53 a.m. CDT)
LB Cassanova McKinzy, 6-2, 224, Birmingham/Woodlawn H.S.
McKinzy, who committed in March, was the first Class of 2012 prospect to align himself publicly with the Tigers. He said new defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder wants to use him as a linebacker/end hybrid who specializes in pass rushing. That makes sense; McKinzy is quick off the edge despite playing with plenty of bulk. He’s not a featherweight burner. McKinzy provided some anxious moments last month when he made an official visit to Clemson despite saying he wouldn’t entertain additional offers. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney even made an in-home visit last week in an effort to sway opinion. McKinzy is a consensus four-star prospect.
